AUMOVIO successfully completes sale of Rheinböllen site
Frankfurt, Germany, July 2, 2026. Technology company AUMOVIO and transformation consulting firm Falkensteg have successfully completed the acquisition of AUMOVIO’s Rheinböllen site. As part of the agreement on the sale announced on April 29, 2026, RHB-Industries, established specifically by Falkensteg, has taken over all business operations as well as the employees at the site.
Around 320 employees work in Rheinböllen. In close exchange with the social partners, a collective bargaining agreement on the transfer of employment conditions was concluded at an early stage. With the transfer of employees to RHB-Industries, the workforce is supporting the future-oriented realignment of the site. Brake calipers and electric parking brakes are produced at the site.
The successful completion of the transaction is another important step in implementing our strategy. We are strengthening our core business and focusing our research and development activities as well as investments specifically on future technologies. At the same time, the completion underlines our progress in consolidating our global manufacturing footprint. The new ownership structure ensures continuity for employees, customers and partners.
Philipp von Hirschheydt, CEO of AUMOVIO
RHB-Industries plans to introduce contract manufacturing in the area of brakes at the Rheinböllen site to support ongoing series production projects. RHB-Industries has also committed to developing future-proof business ideas that will enable production and employment at the site in the long term. As part of this, the plan is to open the site up to additional markets — particularly for applications in the areas of defense, brake-related applications, contract manufacturing in robotics, and industrial applications such as large heat pumps.
Alexander Dietel, Managing Director of RHB-Industries and Partner at Falkensteg: “We look forward to further developing the Rheinböllen site together with the employees and positioning it for long-term success. Over the past few weeks, we have already been in close exchange with those responsible on site and have made initial preparations for all upcoming steps.”
