Acceleration-based Pedestrian Protection System gSAT

Proven system – robust technology. The fully scalable sensor system is based on acceleration satellites (gSAT). Compact sensors concealed in the bumper send a signal to the airbag control unit when a collision occurs.

Pressure based Pedestrian Protection System PPS pSAT

The PPS pSAT consists of two pressure sensors installed at the ends of a flexible tube and is integrated in the front bumper. Pressure changes from a collision can be detected and forwarded to the airbag control unit which triggers the active hood of the vehicle.The pressure-based pedestrian protection system can be enhanced by combining with acceleration-based technology (gSAT).

Battery Impact Detection (BID)

The measurement principle of the existing pedestrian protection system can be applied to the high-voltage battery. This allows to sense the type of impact and to warn the driver accordingly. The active system is robust enough to prevent unnecessary false alarms.

Integrated Sensor Enhancement (ISE)

Vehicles are equipped with many sensors for different purposes. However, these sensors are not always optimized for being used for any other purpose. For this reason, AUMOVIO developed a SW based solution to improve the sensor signal of acceleration and angular rate sensors for stronger requirements than the inital use case had.
