Server-zone vehicle architecture

Server-zone architectures are a key enabler for scalable software-defined vehicle platforms.

They transform the vehicle from a network of distributed ECUs into a centralized, zone-based E/E system. High-performance computers(HPCs) consolidate computing power across domains, while zone control units (ZCUs) aggregate sensors, actuators, ECUs,communication and power distribution within physical vehicle zones.

For OEMs, this creates clear value: reduced wiring complexity, more efficient power supply concepts, faster feature integration andimproved reuse across vehicle platforms. By decoupling hardware and software, server-zone architectures provide the flexibility neededfor continuous updates and long-term lifecycle optimization.

They also create the architectural foundation for new remote-control concepts. OPEN TC18 RCP and Automotive Remote ControlNetwork, RCNet, are examples of how functions can be controlled and orchestrated beyond traditional ECU boundaries.

AUMOVIO supports this transformation as an end-to-end system provider. Our Foundation portfolio covers high-performancecomputers and zone control units. Our Solutions portfolio includes sensors, actuators and ECUs that fit into scalable E/E architectures.

With strong system integration capabilities, deep function know-how and proven experience in ECU consolidation, AUMOVIO helpsOEMs master complexity, accelerate innovation and build server-zone architectures ready for the software-defined vehicle.
