AUMOVIO and Chery to extend their cooperation to Europe
Frankfurt, Germany/Shanghai, China, October 15, 2026. Technology company AUMOVIO and Chinese automotive manufacturer Chery are joining forces to support the establishment of Chery’s automotive production in Europe. AUMOVIO will contribute its overall portfolio, R&D capabilities and European production network to support localized development, industrialization and manufacturing in selected projects. This cooperation is part of Chery’s “Joint Initiative to Build a Sustainable Automotive Supply Chain in Europe” with different suppliers which was launched at the Paris Motor Show. Chery and AUMOVIO have been closely working together in the Chinese market for more than 25 years, with AUMOVIO supplying brake systems, electronic control units, active and passive safety systems, sensors and displays for a broad variety of car models. As a first concrete step, Chery has nominated AUMOVIO to supply airbag control units (ACU) for its European-produced models, which will be locally manufactured in European plants.

European capabilities support localized cooperation
The scope of the cooperation covers potential production at AUMOVIO’s European plants and potential business across the company’s entire automotive portfolio. Localized R&D, manufacturing, close-to-customer supply and local after-sales support are intended to form the operational basis of the cooperation. AUMOVIO will use its deep understanding of the European market, its strong R&D and manufacturing base and regulatory know-how to support Chery’s activities in Europe. The cooperation is based on shared principles: deepen joint technology development, establish local operations and development and build resilient supply chains.
Chery and AUMOVIO: Partners for more than 25 years
AUMOVIO and Chery have worked together since 1999, with AUMOVIO serving as one of Chery’s core suppliers in China. At IAA 2025, the companies signed a letter of intent for long-term cooperation and a global strategic partnership to support Chery’s international business. The new initiative marks a further milestone by placing a specific focus on cooperation in Europe and on additional business opportunities for AUMOVIO’s European operations.
