Located in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, the Brimley Development Center is a year-round vehicle proving ground that serves as a test and development center for various automotive components.
As one of the nation’s most comprehensive winter vehicle testing facilities with over 21 different testing surfaces, the 540-acre facility offers customers an up-to-date, state-of-the-art automotive test site designed for year-round use. The Brimley Development Center also offers warm weather track configurations with a range of testing capabilities, including artificial low-mu surfaces and an environmental chamber located adjacent to a 21-acre vehicle dynamics area.

Our facilities
The Brimley Development Center provides a variety of testing surfaces and configurations to support year-round development. Winter months feature snow, ice, and asphalt tracks, while the remainder of the year offers gravel, tile, and asphalt options. A 21-acre vehicle dynamics area and artificial low-mu surfaces enable specialized evaluations. An environmental chamber allows temperature testing from -40°C to +40°C and can accommodate up to four vehicles.
Customers have access to modular garage and office spaces, including single-bay, two-bay, and four-bay workshops. These areas are equipped with Level 2 and Level 3 charging stations, tire changing and balancing equipment, an alignment rack, and a 5-ton overhead crane. Security measures include a single point of entry, electronic badge access, secured vehicle bays, and a motion-sensing alarm system. The site is fenced, surrounded by forest, and located half a mile from public roads. Cameras are not permitted, and all visitors receive safety training.
The center has maintained a record of zero serious injury accidents. Additional services include driver training programs, trailer testing, and dedicated workshop areas to support customer requirements.
